Welcome to my workspace! I’m Haruka, a software engineer exploring the use of Large Language Models like OpenAI’s ChatGPT in foreign language education. I also develop web services using Django, a Python framework.

Pages is a Django reusable app that serves Markdown files like GitHub Pages. It allows pages to be created and edited directly on the web, making it ideal for small projects like personal blogs. (This website also runs on Pages.)

Japanese uses Kanji extensively, making it difficult to memorize pronunciations (Yomigana). There are over a thousand! 😱 I built a Django-based quiz service to help, allowing users to practice Yomikata by selecting JLPT levels and parts of speech. I used ChatGPT to generate the quiz database.

This Django-powered app presents a Korean sentence and asks for its Japanese translation. The response is evaluated by our tailored ChatGPT model, which scores the translation and provides detailed feedback.

This app helps you master keigo, the art of respectful Japanese, by transforming casual sentences into polite ones with the help of “Manager Tanaka,” a virtual boss character powered by ChatGPT. Each session presents a new situation, allowing you to learn how to use keigo naturally in various contexts. The app also checks and corrects your sentences.
